Or posting pictures of babies on the internet? I am asking because my sister, who lives in Italy wants me to email her some pictures of my daughter but I dont want pictures of her all on the internet. You know it only takes one person to forward an email for it be around the world in an hour. Am I making to big a deal of this?
She gets a little carried away sometimes.

I think that’s a little silly but if you are that uncomfortable with it them don’t send them.

I live far from all of my family. We send pictures of our kids back and forth all the time. What is the worst thing someone would do with a picture?

If you’re only sending them to your sister, what is the concern? Certainly, your sister wouldn’t forward them or display them inappropriately?! I think it’s a great way to keep your sister and other members of your family updated on how fast your little one is growing! My mother in law LOVES getting pictures of my son! Maybe you should send a little note with the e-mail stating that you do not want them forwarded to anyone. Good luck!

E-mail isn’t a problem. Your e-mail provider should have a secure site so that only you and the recipient of the e-mail see the pictures. As for pic being all over the world. Do you not trust your own sister? I’m sure she wouldn’t be spreading pics of her niece all over the Internet. Give your sister a little credit.

I watermark my pictures in Photoshop - just because I worry about someone else seeing them. I don’t know that it would deter a thief, but at least I’ll always be able to prove the pictures are mine.

YEP ONE CLICK OF A BUTTON IS ALL IT TAKES FOR HER PICTURE TO BE ALL OVER THE INTERNET… but if your real uncomfortable with sending emails then send them in the mail or through picture messgaing if you both have cell phones

I don’t think it should be a problem…with all the security email providers supply..it should be okay to so it..and her living in italy the comp would be much faster then snail mail.

Personally, I have no problem with putting my family’s pictures online, but if you are uncomfortable with it, tell your sister. Emailing pictures should be perfectly fine.

If you’re concerned about it, you can use Yahoo! Photos. You download the photos onto your yahoo account, and then set the privacy setting so that only certain people can view them. I believe that you can also set the privacy settings so that no one (even the viewers) can print or copy them. Then, you just email an invitation to your sister.

I use Yahoo! Photos because we have a LOT of photos that would take too much time to email (not to mention memory space). This way, our friends and family can see them whenever they want, without clogging their inbox.

(I DO keep my photos account private, but I don’t restrict copying or printing - I’m just not that concerned about it.)

as long as there is no name attached or no landmarks i see no problem. That is my daughter as my avatar and i email pics to my mother who is 2,000 miles away. i mail some also but this way she has instant gratification

I agree, if you are uncomfortable with it then don’t….but I send photos via e-mail to friends and family who live far away all the time. I think as long as you do not post anything on a website, you should be ok (that is the only thing I DO NOT do).

The reason why I don’t mind putting pictures of my kids up is because I know my kids are beautiful, not to sound stuck up or nothing, but I like showing my kids and how beautiful they are to people. If you are worried about some petafile or something getting the picture its not like he actually has your daughter or knows where you live and can come steal her or something. There is nothing wrong with posting pictures on the internet. If you want to you can go to and you can have your own baby’s website and have a password, like only for family and tell em dont show or send em to anyone else…or
