Make the file 4×6 inches @72 DPI, then save it as a JPEG with medium compression (about 8 or 9 on Photoshops compression scale). This will give you a file that is less than 150KB. Small enough to email your dad. The original is probably about 2MB and is what you will use to make photographic prints.
Go to “File” and then “Save for Web”on the dropdown menu.
The computer will automaticlly resize the photo (JPEG) for you and show the new smaller size of the copy. Use % reduction if you need even smaller if your pix are shot at high resolution.
You’ll “name” this something else than the original and both will be saved. Easier than the above.
