What is appropriate when emailing an old teacher?



I am a college freshman and I just visited my old high school with one of my friends. I had a lovely time and I got to see all of my favorite teachers. The thing was they all insist that I email them more often.. I would, I just don’t know what I would say.

Do I tell them about boyfriends and parties or what???

I had a college professor over the summer and we hit it off pretty well. We started emailing student/teacher?



stuff, but then I started getting extra tutoring and hanging around after class. I wanted to and he wanted me to also. Now 8 months later I don’t know where I stand-we still email. Will this turn to something more? He’s married, but if he wasn’t interested, why does he keep responding to me?

What opening and closing greetings do I use when emailing a teacher or a professor?



I need to email my teacher (in college) and I’m not sure about the level of formality I should keep. Since she’s my English teacher, I need to use the appropriate language. What should I close the email with? (Sincerely, be well, yours, etc…)
